The Caney Creek Theatre Department wrapped up their musical “The Elves and the Shoemaker the Musical” as Caney Creek High School’s first ever musical.

“The students were really excited to tackle such a huge task and had a great time doing it,” Theatre Teacher Charlene Ingle said.

The participants in the play worked hard to work on singing and dancing at the same time and still keeping energy required in the musical, Ingle noted. As this play was different from anything Caney Creek has ever done, people enjoyed the show as well as every other show they have put on.

The lead actors behind the musical were Dean Langehennig who played Lockhart Cobblestone, Haleigh Huggins who played his wife, Jewell Simmons who played Sneerella Twerm, the villain or Nick Davis who played Mayor Clankbattle.

There were two performances on Wednesday Dec. 6, one on Thursday, Dec. 7 and two on Friday, Dec. 8. During the school day, local elementary schools watched several performances.

There were also two night performances for the general public on Thursday night and Saturday.
